How To Connect Apple CarPlay™ To Hyundai
With the rise in popularity of Apple CarPlay™, Orlando area drivers frequently ask us how to set it up in their new Hyundai vehicles.
Fortunately, our experts at Universal Hyundai put together simple instructions on how to start and use Apple CarPlay in your vehicle. You can also find a step-by-step guide in your Hyundai’s owner’s manual.
But, since you are here, let’s get on with it.
How Do I Set Up Apple CarPlay on My Hyundai?
Pairing Your Phone
First things first, connect your iPhone to the front USB port – Apple CarPlay does not work via Bluetooth.
The Apple CarPlay icon should appear on your vehicle’s home screen. Touch the icon to launch Apple CarPlay.
If connecting to your car for the first time, a prompt will appear on your iPhone. Select “Allow” to permit Apple CarPlay to access your phone while locked.
Using Apple CarPlay
At this point, the Apple CarPlay interface will show up on your vehicle’s center display screen. Playing with Apple CarPlay feels much like using your iPhone – touch the icon to launch the app.
For instance, touching the Music icon will launch Apple Music, touching the Maps icon will launch navigation, etc.
To return to the Apple CarPlay main menu, touch the home icon in the bottom left corner of the Apple CarPlay screen.
You can use Siri to access several Apple CarPlay functions. To activate Siri, touch and hold the home icon. Alternatively, you can press the voice recognition button on the steering wheel.
Through Siri, you can initiate navigation, send texts, and start calls all while keeping your focus on the road.
Again, your iPhone must be plugged in to access Siri through Apple CarPlay.
